Baby Anna, a 155-pound Southern White Rhinoceros learns to wallow in the mud at Lion Country Safari - West Palm Beach. Anna was born 4/6/13 and was named after after rhino conservationist Anna Merz, who passed away on April 4th. Merz was one of the founders of The Lewa Conservancy which was started to help save and conserve the Rhinos of Kenya and has grown to help conserve many species of birds and mammals in Africa. Of the 5 species of rhinos (White, Black, Indian, Sumatran and Javan) the white rhino is the most abundant with approximately 20,150 alive today but all 5 species are in peril due mostly to poaching.

The combined wit of Stephen Fry and the knowledge of Mark Carwardine makes for some compelling and entertaining viewing. The infamous scene where Stephen Fry and Mark Carwardine meet the rare parrot the Kakapo for the first time in daylight. The Kakapo seems to take a liking to Mark and leaves an impression.

Red Hawk Nest Cam

In the early morning hours of Monday April 22, two of the hawk eggs hatched. Even before the young were out of their shells, Big Red and Ezra started bringing food to the nest. In this video, Big Red delicately feeds their young by tearing the prey into small pieces, giving the hatchlings just a little bit at a time. The hawks appear to be bringing a range of prey for the young; birds, snakes and rodents. In this video the young are just over a day old and are being fed what looks like a small rodent.

These pandas live in Panda World RESERVE in Fuzhou, China. They are NOT abused. Wheater or not you like the fact that they are teaching them tricks to entertain people is another thing.

16-year-old Marlana VanHoose, who sang the National Anthem before the UK vs Ole Miss women's game on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. The Johnson Central student, who is blind and was born with Cytomegalovirus, got a visit at midcourt from UK Women's Head Coach Matthew Mitchell before the game. "It was really moving," he said. "I told her before tipoff, it really brought tears to my eyes. It was the best performance we've ever had here at Memorial Coliseum. What an unbelievable voice on a little bitty girl like that."
